Welcome to Noukrans

Heaven on earth…

Noukrans is situated on the Goedehoop Farm, approximately 20km from Heidelberg. Our dream is to share our piece of “heaven on earth” with other nature lovers. Bring your own tent or caravan and choose your pitch among hundreds of oak trees (the oldest of which were planted in the 1920s). All the sites have a beautiful view! There are shared ablution facilities for approximately 10 sites (we control the number of guests staying here at one time.) Hot as well as cold water is available at the showers and washing up facilities. Furthermore, there is no electricity here – only solar panels used for lights. The water in the toilets and showers is clean (brown) river water. Fresh rain water is provided daily as drinking water.

How to get to us

As much as we love technology – it sometimes fails us. Google maps has a tendency of leading people through back farm roads that end at a farm gate that is routinely locked due to security reasons. We therefore recommend you follow our directions.

From Swellendam: Drive along the N2 past Buffeljags BP gas station. Take a left at the Suurbraak/Barrydale turn off. Drive through Suurbraak, follow the tar road till it gets to gravel road. On the gravel road, keep going for 5,3km. Ignore the Heidelberg turn off to the right and follow the Grootvadersbosch road. Drive another 1,4km till you reach a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction, then Drive 1,3km till you reach a fork in the road, keep right and follow the Noukrans Boskamp signs on the side of the road.

From Heidelberg: From the N2 turn off into Heidelberg at the Wimpy/Engen/Caltex gas station. Keep going straight in Eksteen street, you will need to go over three stop signs and at the fourth you turn left. Keep going straight over the railway crossing and follow the tar road. After the tar road change to a gravel road, keep going for 1,8km and then turn right at the Goedehoop sign. Keep driving for 4,5km till you get to a fork in the road. Keep right and follow the Noukrans Boskamp signs.

Piece of heaven on earth. Everything the host promises is true and even better. Farm bread and milk second to none. No signal makes for a true escape from a busy life. Forget all about loadshedding. Clean ablutions with hot water and washing up facilities. Awesome hosts, super helpful, warm and friendly. Hundreds of beautiful Oak trees with green lawns make the camping spot stunning and you feel reluctant to leave this breathtaking valley. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for an awesome experience Ben and Adrè.

Vars plaas brood en melk is amazing, maar let op dat daar nie krag is nie("my bad"). Baie basies, maar mooi natuur.

Can't rave enough about this place. Hidden gem with no cell reception ensures a tranquil camping experience. Wonderful campsite with very clean ablutions. Taking the kids to see the dairy farm was amazing. Very informative and the kids got to taste fresh milk. The owners, Adré and Ben, are the nicest people. Be sure to order a freshly baked farm bread from Adré to be delivered to your campsite the following morning. Absolutely love this place! 🥰

The best place to relax without cellphone reception. The camp area is under huge trees, and you can pitch your tent on thick grass. The bathrooms are neat and clean with gas heating and solar lighting. Be sure to come prepared, because there is no power at the campsites. Order your plaas bread and fresh milk the day before. Fresh water supply in containers at the washing up area. Let the kids experience the modern way of milking cows. Enjoy the peace and quiet in this beautiful part of our country.
